Belize Dreams – Silk Caye Siesta
by jane arie baldwin
Under a palm tree I rested and listened
A conch shell pillow and soft sand bed
Palm fronds dancing in an easy breeze
Children laughing
Surf splashing
A lullaby calling me into a dream
Beyond the sand to the sea
Light blue mixes with turquoise and navy
Meets blue sky at the level of my eye
Ellsworth Kelly in blue hues
No cheeseburgers in this paradise
No hunger
No woman
No cry
Sink deeper into the sand
Close my eyes
Just die
Dreaming on Silk Caye
I got a tan just reading your poem.
i was there for a second
Hmmm. I feel a song coming on. : )
