Dirt Rainbows – A poem
by jane arie baldwin
DIRT RAINBOWS
Sun shines on the painted glass
Scar stained skin holds much too fast
Memories carved into a stone
Dust dispersed from time ‘fore dawn
Moonrise o’er the riverbank
Reflect the doe tailed ungulate
Peal the hawk and owl in flight
We as one swirl through the night
Cars and Jeeps in dust bowl keeps
Parked together souls sing deep
Underneath a world of stars
Dirt rainbows serve to guide our hearts
